British Army 1944/1945 Pattern man pack carrier dating to the late World War II period. The olive-drab painted aluminum frame incorporates circular lightening holes, a bottom equipment shelf, and crisscrossed webbing with shoulder and securing straps. Also known as a packboard or general service frame, this lightweight carrier was designed for transporting heavy field equipment, including ordnance components and portable radio sets, in jungle and Far and Middle Eastern campaigns.
