Framed unsigned artwork depicting a circular arrangement of stylized figures and faces in a Northwest Coast Indigenous-inspired design. The composition features a prominent central face surrounded by smaller figural and abstract motifs, rendered in a combination of earthy and vibrant colors. Presented under glass in a polished metallic-finish frame. Overall dimensions measure approximately 21.5 x 25 inches.

The composition appears to be based on or closely related to Bill Reid's Dogfish Woman imagery. Reid's Dogfish Woman was developed from Haida narrative and appears in his Haida Myths portfolio of the early 1980s. The portfolio included offset-lithograph reproductions derived from Reid's drawings. The Dogfish Woman is an important transformational figure within the body of Haida stories explored by Reid.

Iljuwas Bill Reid (1920-1998) was one of the most influential Haida artists of the 20th century. A sculptor, goldsmith, carver and artist, Reid played a major role in the revitalization and wider recognition of Northwest Coast Indigenous art. His work drew extensively upon Haida visual traditions, stories and formline design, ranging from jewelry and works on paper to monumental carvings and sculpture.

The present example is unsigned, and no attribution to Bill Reid is established from the information provided. It should therefore be catalogued as Haida-style / after Bill Reid, rather than as an original work by Bill Reid. Its apparent relationship to Dogfish Woman is useful identifying information, but should not be interpreted as authentication of authorship.
