Pair of traditional Ottoman wooden bath clogs, known as nal?n or kapkap, carved from solid hardwood and designed with elevated platforms for use in hammams. The high bases kept the wearer's feet above wet, soapy floors in public and private bathhouses throughout the Ottoman Empire. The clogs feature shaped wooden soles with carved detailing and original strap mounts across the top.

These clogs were historically worn by women, with more elaborate examples indicating higher social status. Many nal?n were embellished with metal studs or silver/copper filigree; this pair retains the classic carved wooden form with aged patina and wear consistent with early 20th-century production.
