An exceptional and fully documented collection of hand-crafted Canadian crystal from NovaScotian Crystal of Halifax, Nova Scotia - one of Canada's most celebrated artisan glasshouses, renowned for their mouth-blown, hand-shaped and hand-cut lead crystal.
The highlight piece is a pair of Limited Edition Port Wine Glasses, 2004 - individually numbered Pair No. 56 of only 500 pairs ever produced, presented in original grey velvet-lined presentation box with full Certificate of Authenticity signed by the craftsmen responsible: blown by Brian Tobin and cut by Kim Bowes. The certificate further states that this pattern will never be cut again - making this a true once-only Canadian collectible. The accompanying letter from Christine Vaughan of NovaScotian Crystal, dated July 5, 2004, provides additional personal provenance correspondence.
The port glasses feature elegant elongated stems with a faceted knop, hand-cut lower bowl decoration, and cut starburst bases - hallmarks of the NovaScotian Crystal house style.
Also included is a pair of NovaScotian Crystal Water Carafes (or vases) in their original burnt-orange presentation box, displaying the classic bulbous lower body with deep mitre-cut decoration and flared rim, with accompanying NovaScotian Crystal brochure and correspondence.
Condition: All crystal pieces in excellent, virtually unused condition. Original boxes, certificates, letters, and brochures all present and intact.
