Antique Italian edition of Studio su Giacomo Leopardi by Francesco De Sanctis (1817-1883), an important Italian literary critic and historian. The title page identifies this as a posthumous work, edited by Prof. Raffaele Bonari and published in Naples by Cav. A. Morano in 1885.

The work is De Sanctis's extensive critical and biographical study of Giacomo Leopardi (1798-1837), one of the major figures of 19th-century Italian literature. The contents follow Leopardi's intellectual and literary development chronologically, including his early studies, philosophical development, poetry and periods in Rome, Bologna and Milan.
