A color serigraph on paper by Canadian printmaker David Peter Hunsberger, depicting two dense stands of evergreens across a snow-covered landscape beneath layered blue-gray clouds and a muted golden winter sky. The composition is rendered in a cool palette of blue, white, gray, and deep violet, with touches of warm yellow and red. Titled Winter Evening, numbered 13/40, dated 1983, and signed David Peter Hunsberger in pencil along the lower margin. Presented under glass with a white mat in a slender silver-tone metal frame.

ARTIST / CREATOR BIOGRAPHY
David Peter Hunsberger (born 1950) is a Canadian artist and printmaker associated with Waterloo, Ontario. He graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1976 with an honours degree in Fine Arts and established a full-time practice devoted principally to serigraphy, or screen printing. His work has been exhibited across Canada and is held in public and private collections. Hunsberger developed a painstaking, painterly approach to the medium. His original prints were produced by hand-painting stencils into a silkscreen and drawing ink through each stencil onto paper. A completed composition could require approximately 10 to 15 separate color applications, often enhanced through the layering of transparent inks. He generally worked in small editions, allowing the printed surface to retain a richly textured, handmade character. Nature remained central to Hunsberger's artistic language. Wildflowers, forest interiors, shorelines, rivers, rapids, and expansive Canadian landscapes recur throughout his work. Rather than treating these places as precise records, he translated his experiences outdoors into rhythmic arrangements of color, pattern, light, and shadow. His distinctive serigraphs unite technical discipline with an intimate response to the wooded and waterside environments of Ontario and the broader Canadian landscape.
