A circa 1963 Harman Kardon Award Series Model F50XK vacuum-tube FM stereo multiplex tuner kit, manufactured in Plainview, New York. The brushed gold-tone faceplate has an illuminated logarithmic FM dial, balance tuning meter, stereo indicator and controls for automatic frequency control, FM or FM stereo mode, local or distant reception, power, tuning and FM stereo noise filtering. The open metal chassis contains tube circuitry, shielded sections, a power transformer, attached two-prong power cord, 300-ohm and wire antenna terminals, and monophonic or two-channel stereophonic outputs. Contemporary specifications list a built-in multiplex adapter, 2.8 µV IHFM sensitivity and frequency response of 10-52,000 cps. The labeled 6CA4/EZ81 rectifier socket is vacant. No accessory outer enclosure is included.
