Antique carved wooden lidded storage vessel featuring a domed top with central handle and two side handles, decorated with concentric bands of painted and incised geometric and floral motifs. The surface is finished in dark tones with reddish accents, imitating traditional Ottoman and Indo-Persian metalwork patterns. The vessel is crafted from solid wood, with visible age, patina, and wear consistent with early 20th-century domestic or ceremonial use.
These carved wooden containers were used throughout the Ottoman and Persian cultural regions for storing dry goods, spices, or household items, and were often included in dowries or ceremonial presentations. The detailed surface decoration reflects regional artisan traditions that emulate engraved copper or brass vessels.
