Collection of five pieces of iridescent carnival glass in warm orange-gold tones commonly described by collectors as marigold. Carnival glass is pressed or molded glass treated with metallic salts to produce its characteristic iridescent surface.
The collection includes two bowls, one featuring a prominent starburst-style pattern, a pedestal dish with flared rim, an ornate tumbler and a handled mug. The pieces display assorted molded geometric and decorative patterns with reflective orange, gold and multicolored iridescence.
Individual makers and pattern names have not been confirmed; many early carnival glass pieces were unmarked, and accurate attribution generally requires matching the molded patterns, shapes and base colors.
