Introduced in 1967, the Dynaco PAT-4A was the factory-assembled version of the company's solid-state stereo preamplifier and control center. Designed for connection to an external power amplifier, it provides magnetic and ceramic phono, tape-head, tape-amplifier, tuner, spare, and special-source inputs. The brushed-metal front panel includes source selection, volume, balance, bass, and treble controls, a four-position high-frequency filter, tape monitor, loudness, low-filter, stereo/mono switching, power switch, and front input and output jacks. The rear panel carries two-channel RCA connections, dual amplifier outputs, tape output, grounding terminal, fuse holder, and switched and unswitched accessory outlets. Brown metal enclosure with attached two-prong power cord.
