Sansui Model 500A AM/FM multiplex tube stereo receiver from the 1960s, rated at 20 watts per channel into 8 ohms. The brushed-metal faceplate has an analog AM/FM dial, headphone jack, and rotary tuning, band, function, bass, treble, balance, and volume controls. Switches provide speaker control, low- and high-frequency filters, loudness, tape monitoring, mono/stereo operation, muting, and FM automatic frequency control. The rear panel provides phono, tape-head, auxiliary, tape-monitor, and recording connections, speaker terminals, switched and unswitched convenience outlets, an AM ferrite loopstick antenna, and an attached power cord. Housed in a brown ventilated metal cabinet. The maker's plate identifies Sansui Electric Co., Ltd., Tokyo, Japan, with 117-volt AC, 50-60-cycle, 270 VA operation.
